GIROA, S.A. is an energy and environment management services company also  dedicated to the maintenance, conservation and adaptation of buildings, installations  and complexes of different nature, in order to improve their comfort, performance and  security in a less expensive way. Company with more than 20 years of experience in  the market, where it has been a forerunner in the Saving Share and in the Guarantee  of Results, has created a new conception of job and service, based on a pragmatic  approach to the demands of its clients.

 

In recent years, GIROA has consolidated a leading position in the market of Spain,  being located in San Sebastian. They proposes as its philosophy the satisfaction of the  necessities of its clients offering the possibility of an INTEGRAL AND  MULITECHNICAL MANAGEMENT. GIROA, S.A. is lastly suffering a progressive  increase in its number of workers, having at present more than 500 people distributed  in their Delegations. Regarding RTD and innovation, GIROA has taken part in  technological development projects with a direct application in their maintenance  business. As an example, some of these projects are enumerated:

Disinfection against Legionella system in cooling towers   “Heizetester Project.: Quickly detection of opportunists germs in the air”   “Perca” Project: efficient swimming-pool in the improvement of energetic performance  and in the water quality.

 

Likewise GIROA, S.A. has a management energy department which its main objective  is the satisfaction of the client’s needs, reducing the energy demand and guarantying  the energy efficiency in the time by using control and management tools. This  department, formed by Engineers and Technical, will be the responsible for the  development of the project.

 

The reasons for this company to take part in this project are its experience and interest  in the energetic management. So in this field, GIROA works in the implantation,  financing and exploitation of energetic installations centralized as in public buildings, as  in companies and Neighbourhood associations, having at present the management of  more than 170MW of heating potency, 10 MW of cooling potency and 11 MW of  electricity. Furthermore, this project will let to increase the present relationship with the  San Sebastian city council, with which we have an energy management contract. In  this contract, the main point is the energetic management in the heating installations of  the Sports Broad buildings. The implementation of new control and integration control  system of these is an important factor for the increase of the collaborations with the city  council and their next application in other councils.

For the development of the management and control system, GIROA will have the support of a company called Ofenval that has more than 15 experience years in the development and implantation of Regulation and Centralized Control of Building systems (BMS). In an initial step, this systems were intended to perform the control of heating and cooling facilities becoming after extensive to the control of illumination, energy and water consumes, pool treatment and depuration, lifts, cogeneration installations, solar panels, etc… Due to our worry about the energetic saving and the environment conservation, Ofenval gives the necessary tools to the owner of the building for achieving the highest energetic advantage of their installations. They are specialists in the formation of nets for the remote control of buildings of an owner, via modem or web; they have performed their implementation in more than 800 buildings.

GIROA is a company (service provider) in energy efficiency and ICT solutions able to maintain the services and with commercial interest in the developed solutions. They are already providers of public partners capable of continuing offering the services after the end of the pilots.
