
“Built Environment Sustainability and Technology in Energy” (BEST Energy) project is addressed to the aforementioned objective by the implementation and validation of several pilot actions in several European Public buildings and public spaces, with the aim of substantially improving the energy efficiency in those buildings and places by the use of market ready ICT solutions, demonstrating also the economic viability of the systems to be installed.
BEST Energy project belongs to the ICT Policy Support Programme. The ICT Policy Support Programme (ICT PSP) under the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP) aims at stimulating innovation and competitiveness through the wider uptake and best use of ICT by citizens, governments and businesses, particularly Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.
The ICT Policy Support Programme in the CIP is one of the main financial instruments of i2010, a European Information Society for growth and employment that promotes an open and competitive digital economy and emphasises ICT as a driver of inclusion and quality of life.
